All This Year's Christmas Ads In One Place

Well, all the ones we can find at least. Have a look, compare and contrast. What do they tell us about ourselves, society, commerce, the companies involved, advertising, trousers and/or turkey giblets, I wonder? In no particular order...

Argos

John Lewis

Morrisons

Tesco

DFS

Cadbury

M&S

  1. John Lewis feels like a gift of holiday spirit. The others? Meh.

  2. They tell us that Morrisons and M&S really have no shame, and that Tesco are really struggling.

  3. I like the Tesco's ad. But I think you could stick a few logos / brand names at the end of it. Like many ads today. JL is probably the one they'll be talking about.

  4. Aldi's effort — http://www.prolificnorth.co.uk/2013/11/aldi-christmas-advert-2013-mccann-manchester/

    Another 'meh'.

  5. Apart from the 2011 and 2013 John Lewis ads, the best Christmas adverts ever are the BBC from 2008 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DgL8MDHfus) and Argos from 2007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XG-Euzn-Bo). I never get tired of them.
